Go not to the temple to put flowers upon the feet of God,
First fill your own house with the Fragrance of love and kindness.

கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று கடவுளின் காலடியில்
தூவிட வேண்டாம் மலர்களை! மக்களே!
பூவிதழ் சிந்தும் நறுமணத்தை உங்களது
நேர்த்தியான  வீட்டில் முதலில் கருணையுடன்
வேரோடும் அன்புடன் தூவி
நிரப்புங்கள்!
பாரே வியக்கும் உணர்ந்து.

Go not to the temple to light candles before the altar of God,
First remove the darkness of sin , pride and ego,
from your heart...

கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று விளக்கேற்ற வேண்டாம்!
பாவியாக்கும் தீச்செயல்,ஆணவம் மற்றும்
சீரழிக்கப் பார்க்கும் செருக்கென்னும் காரிருளை 
ஊரறிய உன்னகத்தை விட்டேதான் நீக்கு!
 பார்போற்றும் உன்னை வியந்து.

Go not to the temple to bow down your head in prayer,
First learn to bow in humility before your fellowmen.
And apologise to those you have wronged.

கோயிலுக்குச் செல்லவேண்டாம்! உந்தன் தலைகுனிந்து
காலில் விழுந்து வழிபாடு செய்யவேண்டாம்!
நீமுதலில் பெற்றோர் பெரியோரைத் தாள்பணிந்தே
நாளும் அடக்கமாக வாழப் பழகவேண்டும்!
நீயாரைப் புண்படச் செய்தாயோ
அன்னாரை
நாடியே மன்னிப்புக் கேள்.

Go not to the temple to pray on bended knees,
First bend down to lift someone who is down-trodden.
And strengthen the young ones. 
Not crush them.

கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று முழங்கா லிட்டேதான்
தாயே எனக்கருள் என்றே வழிபாடு
வேண்டவேண்டாம்! கொஞ்சம் குனிந்தே எளியோரைத்
தாங்கி உயர்த்து! இளைஞர்கள்
பண்புடன்
ஓங்க வலுகொடு! நாளும் நசுக்காதே!
தூண்டு! துலங்கும்  வளர்ந்து.

Go not to the temple to ask for forgiveness for your sins,
First forgive from your heart those who have hurt  you!

உன்னுடைய வக்கிர எண்ணச் செயல்களுக்கு
மன்னிப்புக் கேட்டேதான் கோயிலுக்குச் செல்லாதே!
உன்னைத் துடிதுடிக்கப் புண்படுத்திப் பார்த்தவரை
அன்புடன் நீமுதலில்  உள்ளம் மகிழ்ந்திட
மன்னித்துப் பண்படுத்தப் பார்.
